Stabi S is our smallest turntable with a design approach normally found only in more expensive models. Its unique shape and construction of solid brass rods, provide an extremely rigid connection to platter, bearing and tonearm support. There is no flat plate to resonate and transmit vibrations, only solid brass rods 50mm in diameter. A second brass rod provides stability and the two are clamped together in a T shape. The motor is housed independently in its own bras tower which dampens vibration of the motor itself. A ground, flat belt provides drive from the motor pulley to the subplatter.
The bearing is of highly polished, fine grain carbon steel with a one point contact, while the bearing sleeve is of a resin/textile material which has excellent damping, non-resonant properties.
With a mat on top and rubber damping insert underneath, the sold aluminium platter provides a stable non-resonant platform for records.
An acrylic cover protects platter and tonearm while reflecting the turntable’s original shape. A 45 rpm adaptor is provided and is simply slipped over the 33 rpm pulley. The turntable can accommodate various tonearms by the use of different pre- cut brass plates and it allows for VTA adjustment on any tonearm mounted.
The whole turntable is supported by an optional high density plywood plate.
Introduced: 1998
Turntable Stabi SD is a special version of Stabi S turntable which can accommodate two tonearms. The second tonearm is fixed on the extended T part of the main turntable chassis. Stabi S turntable can be modified to accept a second tonearm by simply replacing the shorter part of T beam with extended version ( either 9 or 12 inch version) which also increases the mass of the Stabi SD turntable. Due to its construction the existing lid of Stabi S does not cover the Stabi SD. Stabi S can be also converted into Stabi S 12 inch version.
Added extra mass also improves turntable's sound performance!
Stabi SD (double): Options for two tonearms as order or as upgrade from any other version: ( tonearm length in inches) first number indicated right hand side tonearm and second left hand side tonearm

Stabi R is a very compact turntable made from a solid block of aluminium with an internal (built in) electronic power supply. Drive is provided through a DC motor and a proprietary, non flexible drive belt.
The main platter is a constrained sandwich design consisting of three layers ( aluminium – acrylic - aluminium) in order to minimise vibration and maximise the damping effect of the platter itself and that of the LP. The ruby ball minimises friction and noise within the thrust bearing and is supported on a special low noise compound material.
One of the crucial design features of the new Stabi R is an unsurpassed degree of versatility and flexibility with regard to multiple tonearm installations. It is possible to use up to 4 (four!) tonearms around the main platter.Further, a variety of colours and a wood finish are available as options.
Wing with armboard: Available various tone arm cut-outs
Arm holder and balcony: Available only with Kuzma cut-out
Stabi R base: you could fit it into your own DIY plinth.
Stabi Ref was first introduced in 1992.
This is constructed from two plates, each plate being made from a sandwich construction of two 10 mm aluminium plates, separated by an acrylic plate clamped together with pre-stressed, non-magnetic, stainless steel screws. The turntable chassis (top plate) is suspended by large springs submerged in silicone oil, with a low resonance of 2.2 Hz, which dampens movements of the springs themselves. The main base (bottom plate) is supported by three aluminium and stainless steel spikes. The top plate is easily levelled by four knobs. When this plate is lifted (for transport) the silicone suspension reservoirs are automatically sealed.
Two motors in a diamond drive, power the subplatter, which has an inverted bearing with a ruby ball. Both ball and sliding ring have their own oil bath for lubrication and damping of any vibration within the bearing. The platter is also of a clamped sandwich construction, in order to combine the strength of aluminium (rigidity) and the damping properties of acrylic, which produces an exceptionally stable and no resonant support for records. The mat and special clamp are made in much the same way as the platter and further serve to control all vibration. The armboard also employs the sandwich construction design.
In 2009 we introduced new power supply called PS Ref 2. This power supply is the only difference between models Stabi Ref 2 and Stabi Ref .
This is a modern turntable designed in a classic turntable style with the emphasis on providing the best possible record playback.
The turntable’s size allows even 12 inch tonearms to be mounted and covered with its massive acrylic dust cover on spring hinges . The dust cover is constructed not to pick up any vibration from loud music.
The turntable is assembled from various solid parts of aluminium making the construction rigid and absorbing vibration. On the outer sides of the main structure are solid aluminium plates, which give the turntable mass and further increase structural rigidity and damping.
The covered spikes within the legs allow horizontal levelling of the whole turntable.
The top aluminium plate under the platter, has an elastically under hung main frame and motor system below which is insulated from the outer main turntable’s structure via four big elastic dampers, allowing for fine horizontal levelling of the platter and tonearm.
The platter is constructed from two pieces of 30mm thick aluminium with an acrylic damping plate sandwiched between making a very inert support for records.
The bearing has an inverted shaft with a ruby ball which gives precise, low noise rotation to a supporting subplatter.
The main frame carrying the main bearing and massive aluminium armboard, is bolted together from solid aluminium blocks forming a unique damped rigid support.
The motor system: The DC motor itself is specially mounted inside a brass cup and aluminium plate. This motor assembly is encapsulated and suspended inside a massive brass motor housing. Thus the main frame is doubly insulated from the motor system and yet still maintains rigidity, allowing for max torque momentum to be transmitted via the stiff plastic belt to the subplatter. This gives the platter a high torque drive with the positive properties of belt and idler drives, while minimising the negatives one.
The external power supply controls the DC motor with precise frequency and it has very fine speed adjustments. The control panel on the front plate of the turntable has start/stop and speed change functions. The full speed of platter on 33 rpm is reached in just 2 seconds- in one full rotation of the platter. There is also a remote control start/stop function.
STABI M PLUG AND PLAY:
We can supply from factory preset turntable fitted with 4Point tonearm and a CAR cartridge. No need to fit tonearm or cartridge or adjust tangential geometry, tracking force, bias, VTA or azimuth!!! All is done in factory set up with higest possible precision and then shipped safely worldwide! There is no other turntable at this level capable offering plug and play function.
Stabi XL DC differs from previous Stabi XL, XL2 & XL4 turntables by using a very special DC motor, a machined plastic belt and a new power supply (PS DC), which gives a new, unique and uniformly precise drive to the platter.
New platter drive lifts this turntable's performance to a new level.
XL AIR turntable differs from Stabi XL DC turntable by using air bearing and extra bronze platter having total platter mass of 44 kg. Stabi XL DC can be converted into XL AIR version by using XL AIR kit. Current delivery time is 30-45 days.
NOTE: From Jan 1st, 2020 we supply XL AIR with compressor model 50D which is big enough to supply air for XL AIR turntable and Air Line tangential tonearm.
XL Air turntable is using air bearing compared coventional bearing which allows improvement in two important paramethers in turntable design.
Air bearing have almost zero friction and thus no vibrations in bearing itself thus eliminating noise reaching cartridge.
Second advantage with properly designed air bearing ( not just simple floating on air chusion) is higher load.
Total mass of rotating platter is 44 kg making it more imune to cartridge drag which slows down any platter regardlessof mass and drive. The top platter- same as in XL DC turntable ( 22 kg) is a sandwich construction of aluminium and acrylic plates screwed together in a pre-stressed form to damp all unwanted vibration. Lower bronze platter ( 22kg) is cast and gives good damping properites.
Air bearing requires for function compressed air which is supplied from air supply.
Air supply consist of compressor and air filters. See for details in this manual elsewhere.
Turntable's air bering actually consists from two bearings surfaces. Top surface carries vertical load while cilyndrical hole carries horiontal load. Air bearing has a shaft of 31mm and trust plate of 60 mm.
Air bearing surfaces are made from porous carbon thus having milions of small holes to let air pressure out. This creates more uniform pressure inside bearing's gap of 5 microns with 4bar pressure thus making air bearing stiffer with zero movements.
The base holding air bearing is made from two pieces of solid brass which are clamped together having good damping properties.
